Gretchen Scott ~ LMT, Aquatic Practitioner, Massage Therapist and Owner
"The focus of my Aquatic Integration work is geared towards pain management and breaking the cycle of pain through passive movements and intentional touch." ~ Gretchen Scott.
Gretchen Scott graduated from the Downeast School of Massage in 2003 with high honors. And has been studying and practicing Aquatic Integration and Watsu since 2005. She is now the proud owner of and is one of the founding Practitioners at LilyPond Aquatic Therapies.
Gretchen studied Swedish and Sports massage and has developed specialty skills in Clinical Flexibility and Therapeutic Exercise, massage and relaxation. Her love of bodywork and water led her to the study of Aquatic Integration and Watsu® where she blends her therapeutic knowledge and achievement with these healing water modalities.
The intention of her touch focuses on reconnecting the mind body relationship in its healthiest form. She believes, "The human mind and our body’s muscles are engaged in constant sensory-motor feedback loops. With Aquatic Integration’s passive movements, lack of gravitational forces and the therapist’s manipulation to fascia and muscle tissue, clients can elicit change in muscle memory and re-pattern states of relaxation. Thus breaking the pain cycle between body and mind."
Melissa Lamont ~ LMT, NCTMB, Certified Bellanina Facelift Massage Therapist - Massage Therapist
Melissa is a graduate of Namaste Institute for Holistic Studies in ME, and has trained with Nancy Vincent of Bellanina Institute for Facial and Body rejuvenation in Chapel Hill, NC.
She is trained in the areas of relaxation/therapeutic massage, Reiki 1, neuromuscular techniques, and trigger point therapy. Melissa's technique addresses the contractions and knots in muscle tissue that become the cause of muscle soreness or weakness, restricted range of motion, and pain that can be referred to other parts of the body.
Facial wellness is a program which consists of: a gentle cleansing of cellular debris , manual lymphatic drainage, acupressure, moist heat therapy and massage which includes the face, upper body, hands and feet . Aromatherapeutic oils and natural bio-extracts feed and nourish the skin. The effects of removing tension lines from the face, allow the entire body to release tension, enhancing metabolic processes, and resulting in greater blood and oxygen flow.
Melissa has been the operator of her own business for the past 20 years and is a licensed riding instructor of both children and adults. As a teacher of horseback riding, she has gained interpersonal skills which aid others in the process of personal empowerment, and understanding one’s own personal body mechanics. Melissa fully realizes the power of the mind/body connection as a path to health and wellbeing. By being attentive and present, she addresses the body as a whole. She is grateful for the opportunity to nurture a successful experience for clientele by addressing body awareness, stress relief, and pain management.
Keith J. Davie ~ LMT
