Overview
The perfect warmth of our saltwater pool and your buoyancy while floating in it relaxes muscles. Your entire spine will be supported and soothed. With this remarkable support and without the normal weight of your body, your spine, joints and muscles can be manipulated and freed in a way unique only to water.
Your aquatic treatment can include gentle, flowing yet deep stretches that release muscular and joint restrictions. You will undoubtedly experience a state of deep relaxation. This encourages the release of stress and tensions unparalleled in any other healing modality.

Aquatics and Elder Care
Slow movers and the elderly usually do better in a warm pool.
The unique properties of our saline pool provide support and assistance that aid in preventing falls. In water you can improve mobility, strength and function and effectively enhance balance, flexibility and coordination. Postural improvements often occur within the first visit. Appropriate closeness and nurturing are additional benefits.

Aquatics and Children
Aquatic therapy differs from land-based therapy as it allows young children to experience coordination and balance and develop healthy postures earlier. They are likely to experience decreased hypersensitivity to touch, while developing strength and endurance, motivation and self-confidence all of which aid their developmental process.
Gently floating in warm saltwater also slows downs all movement which accommodates equilibrium challenges. Children learn to move more easily helping them to take on higher-level skills and activities.
To learn more about these specific benefits, you may want to research the children’s aquatic work being done in Michigan at The Children’s Therapy Corner.
Below is an article named "Sea of Calm" written by Karrie Osborn. We thank the publisher of Massage and Bodywork Magazine for allowing us to share it with you today. Karrie’s article provides further insight into the benefits of aquatic therapy for young children.

Aquatics and Achy Joints
In the water, you are buoyant. You float. Given 90 % of your bodyweight is no longer a factor -- no stress is placed on affected joints. Water assists your movement and restores functional range of motion and activity.
The hydrostatic pressure of the water surrounding the body helps blood and lymph circulate which often reduces swelling and inflammation. Once swelling is decreased, joint tenderness usually decreases and range of motion usually improves. This allows for greater comfort and ease for clients with painful joints. Muscles relax. Your body feels younger, more vibrant.
Often clients with aches and pains make progress faster in the water than through traditional land-based modalities.
