On June 1st, 2009, LilyPond Aquatic Therapies changed ownership and management. Aquatic Therapies Practitioner & Licensed Massage Therapist, Gretchen Scott, purchased the business and is committed to running it with the same high standards and thoughtful attention to clients’ health needs that has been a trademark of LilyPond for the past three years.
LilyPond was created by Stephen Huyler, whose interest in the healing arts inspired him to bring this serene vision of aquatic healing to Mid-coast Maine where all our friends and neighbors can experience the beauty and power of aquatic therapy.
Scott, along with the other practitioners of LilyPond, is very excited to be able to continue this specialized service for the midcoast. She appreciates working with a population of varying needs. Scott is a lifelong resident of the Mid-coast and has been a successful health care provider for the past ten years. “Assuming ownership of LilyPond will enable me to continue with the focus of my Aquatic Integration work which is geared towards pain management and breaking the cycle of pain through passive movements and intentional touch,” states Scott.
At present, LilyPond has six practitioners, each of whom are highly trained in multiple techniques to create a healing and relaxing experience for each client, supporting them in their process of relieving stress, reducing pain, and restoring their body’s vitality.
Scott is joined at LilyPond by Linda Shephard, Aquatic Therapies Practitioner, Jin Shin Jyutsu Practitioner, & Yoga Therapist, Mary Sheeline, Aquatic Therapies Practitioner & Licensed Massage Therapist, Sandra Turner, Aquatic Therapies Practitioner, Terry Miller, CranioSacral Practitioner and Yoga Therapist and Melissa Lamont, Licensed Massage Therapist.
